Tij Iginla delivered one of the most dominant stretches of the season, earning HockeyWolf Player of the Month honors after a remarkable March for the Kelowna Rockets. The Utah Mammoth prospect combined elite scoring, consistency, and clutch performances to lead Kelowna into the postseason with momentum.
The 19 year old forward recorded 28 points in 12 games during the month, totaling 10 goals and 18 assists while posting an impressive +18 rating. His production played a major role in helping the Rockets secure fourth place in the WHL’s Western Conference and carry that success directly into the playoffs.
Iginla’s offensive surge was highlighted by a five point performance on March 7, when he scored once and added four assists in a dominant win over the Victoria Royals. Just days later, he reached another milestone, scoring his 40th goal of the season in overtime to lift Kelowna to a 2–1 victory further showcasing his ability to deliver in key moments.
As the playoffs began, Iginla elevated his game even further. He opened the first round series against the Kamloops Blazers with a two point performance, including the game winning goal. He followed that with a three point outing in Game 2 and then a four point night in Game 3, finishing the opening three games of the postseason with nine points. His performance helped the Rockets jump out to a commanding 3–0 series lead.
Selected sixth overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, Iginla has developed into one of the most dangerous offensive players in the WHL. The 6'1 forward finished the regular season with 90 points in just 48 games, leading the league with a 1.88 points per game rate. His efforts earned him a spot on the WHL Western Conference First All Star Team, further solidifying his status as one of the league’s premier talents.
Beyond the numbers, Iginla’s ability to control the pace of play, create opportunities for teammates, and deliver in high pressure situations has made him the driving force behind Kelowna’s success. His scoring touch, combined with strong playmaking instincts, has allowed him to impact every game he plays.
With a dominant regular season finish and an explosive start to the playoffs, Tij Iginla proved to be a clear and deserving choice for HockeyWolf Player of the Month.
