The Show-Me State skater, Teddy Richardson, put on a show this past weekend for the Bismarck Bobcats, earning HockeyWolf Player of the Week honors following a statement performance in a crucial Dakota Buffalo Cup series against the Watertown Shamrocks.
Richardson wasted no time making his presence felt.
On Friday night, the 6'2 forward recorded his first two points with the Central Division club, tallying two primary assists on Nick Snyder goals to help lift the Bobcats to a hard fought 3-2 victory. His poise and playmaking ability were immediately noticeable, setting the tone for what would become a breakout weekend.
Saturday night was when Richardson truly took over.
Committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, the ‘06-born forward showcased his full offensive arsenal in front of the home crowd. With under a minute remaining in the opening period, Richardson found the back of the net for his first goal as a Bobcat. Just 50 seconds later, he turned on the jets carrying the puck through the neutral zone and burying an unassisted tally to give Bismarck its first lead of the night.
But he wasn’t finished.
After 40 more minutes of tightly contested hockey forced overtime, a turnover created by Charlie Kresl led to a 2-on-1 opportunity. Richardson seized the moment, lighting the lamp for the overtime game winner and completing his fourth career NAHL hat trick in dramatic fashion. The Bobcats secured a thrilling 5-4 victory, and Richardson cemented himself as the difference-maker.
For the weekend, Richardson posted five points (three goals, two assists), proving to be a driving force behind Bismarck’s sweep.
A T1ER alumnus who previously skated with the CarShield program, Richardson brings valuable experience to the Bobcats lineup. The third year NAHL veteran has now surpassed 100 career games and totaled 85 career points. This marks the second time this season he has earned weekly honors, previously being recognized on December 1, 2025, after a four goal performance with the Wisconsin Windigo.
Bobcats Head Coach Garrett Roth shared his thoughts on Richardson’s impact:
“Teddy has been a big addition to our group and has the ability to make an immediate impact in our lineup. Offensively, he made a huge imprint on our success, but his work ethic and commitment to how we want to play stood out this past weekend. We've had a lot of changes within our group lately, and he has done a great job understanding what the focus is for his development and our team's success.”
In a rivalry series packed with intensity, Richardson didn’t just contribute, he took control. From primary assists to overtime heroics, his performance was a complete display of skill, speed, and composure under pressure.
That’s what HockeyWolf Player of the Week looks like.
