The Soo Greyhounds have a reason to celebrate this week, as forward Christopher Brown earns Cogeco OHL Player of the Week honors following a standout performance over three victories. The 19-year-old from Toronto showcased his offensive skill, scoring twice and adding five assists to help power the Hounds’ success.
Brown opened the week with a pair of primary assists on Wednesday at home against the Kitchener Rangers, then scored the game-winning goal just 1:21 into overtime, lifting Soo to a 3-2 victory. He continued his hot streak on Sunday, recording another multi-point performance with a goal and three assists in a 6-4 win over the visiting Owen Sound Attack.
This season, Brown has been a consistent contributor for Soo, tallying 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists) in 32 games during his fourth OHL campaign. A former first-round (16th overall) pick by the Greyhounds in 2022, he has compiled 86 points (27-59–86) and a plus-16 rating over 185 career regular season games. Three of his 11 goals this season have come as game-winners, underscoring his ability to make a difference in clutch situations as he bounces back from an injury-shortened 2024–25 season.
Christopher Brown’s timely scoring and playmaking made him a driving force behind Soo’s victories last week and a deserving recipient of the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week honor.
