HockeyWolf Player of the Week: Veeti Louhivaara Chicago netminder earns first USHL shutout in dominant weekend

Veeti Louhivaara delivered a composed and efficient weekend in net for the Chicago Steel, earning HockeyWolf’s Player of the Week honors after backstopping the Steel to two victories. The New Jersey Devils prospect showed poise and control in both starts, anchoring Chicago’s defensive efforts.
Louhivaara opened the weekend on Friday with a strong performance against Cedar Rapids, stopping 26 of 28 shots in a 3–2 win. He followed that effort with a milestone performance against Madison, where he turned aside all 30 shots he faced in a 3–0 victory, recording the first shutout of his USHL career.
The 18 year old goaltender finished the weekend with a perfect 2-0-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals-against average, and a .966 save percentage. His consistency between the pipes played a critical role in Chicago’s success across both games.
With calm positioning, timely saves, and a breakthrough shutout performance, Veeti Louhivaara proved to be a difference maker and a deserving HockeyWolf’s Player of the Week.
