Victorious Player Spotlight: Mason Orr Orr makes history in NA3HL team's first season

This season marks an exciting new chapter for goaltender Mason Orr, who has become a key part of the Carolina Rage’s inaugural NA3HL season. After a tough year with the NJ Titans AAA Academy, Orr has rebounded with confidence and consistency, helping make history with the Rage in their first campaign.

“Last year I played for the NJ Titans AAA Academy. My record was 1-13 I believe with a save percentage of .900 that season was terrible, I don't remember too much about it.”

Now, Orr is making a strong impression with the Carolina Rage. “This year I am excited to be part of the Inaugural season of the Carolina Rage NA3HL. We are currently 7-7-1. I am 4-2 on the season, and have logged minutes in 9 of our 15 games with a save percentage of 0.902.”

Orr has already been part of several significant moments for the new franchise. “I have been involved in a couple of Carolina Rage historical ‘Firsts.’ I received the first star of the game for the Rage during opening weekend. I was between the pipes for the very first recorded NA3HL win in Carolina Rage history.”

Known for his focus and reliability, Orr continues to earn the trust of his coaches and teammates. “One of the intangibles that sets me apart is my drive for excellence and my focus. Coach has provided feedback that I'm reliable and a steady presence. I just do what’s asked and stay consistent.”

In the classroom, Orr brings the same level of discipline. “Academically, I'm finishing up my Senior year in High school and have a 4.0 GPA. I'm still undecided about what I want to pursue in college, but I'm interested in Mechanical and Electrical fields. I turn 18 next month and this is my first year of Juniors. I look forward to hopefully advancing up the Division ladder in the ensuing years. It would be amazing if I can be a part of an ACHA Division I team or better by the time I'm ready for college.”

Orr also credits Stephen Heisler and the Victorious Hockey program for helping shape his growth on and off the ice. “Working with Stephen and the Victorious Hockey family has helped me identify personal areas of growth and has afforded me opportunities for growth of my skills and my game.”

He added, “I thank the Carolina Rage for believing in me and Victorious Hockey for helping me play the game I love.”

With his strong work ethic, dependable play, and commitment to improvement, Mason Orr is establishing himself as a standout goaltender in the Carolina Rage organization and a promising prospect for the future.
