WARRIORS ACQUIRE FORWARD JEREMY SPRUNG FROM NEW MEXICO Warriors Sign Jeremy Sprung

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma Warriors, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announced Wednesday the acquisition of Jeremy Sprung from the New Mexico Ice Wolves in exchange for Easton Rooney and one 2027 second-round draft pick. 

Sprung, 20, a Brown University commit, started the season with the Ice Wolves, having already appeared in two games. 

“We are very excited to have the ability to add a veteran forward like Jeremy Sprung to our locker room,” Head Coach Eric Ballard said. “His experience and ability will add some much-needed depth and leadership we are looking for early on.”

The 6-foot-2 forward started last season with the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, logging six goals and eight assists in 30 games played before being dealt to New Mexico, where he logged eight goals and eight assists in 18 games played. 

In the 2024-25 season, the Smithtown, New York native began his junior career with the New Jersey Titans, registering seven goals and five assists in 46 games. 

Rooney, 20, split last season between the Johnstown Tomahawks and Maine Nordiques before being acquired by the Warriors. In 42 total games, the 6-foot-3 forward logged four goals and five assists. 

“We wish Easton the very best in New Mexico,” Ballard said. “He is a great player and young man, and we are excited for his future.”

The Warriors begin the 2026-27 campaign at home on Friday, Sept. 18 against the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Puck drop from Blazers Ice Centre is set for 7 p.m. CST.
