WARRIORS ACQUIRE YATES AND SYDOW FROM WEST TEXAS Oklahoma Warriors Signs Hunter Yates, and Jack Sydow

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Warriors, proud members of the NA3HL South Division, announced Wednesday the acquisition of forward Hunter Yates and defenseman Jack Sydow from the West Texas Wranglers in exchange for two 2027 tenders. 

“We're excited to welcome Jack and Hunter to the Warriors organization,” Assistant Coach Artem Lantukh said. “Both players have valuable experience in this league, and we believe they'll bring maturity, compete level, and leadership to our group as we continue building toward the season.”

Yates, 19, is entering the third season of his junior career, splitting the past season with the Gillette Wild and West Texas Wranglers. 

The Fontana, California native started the season with the Wild, appearing in three games, before recording a goal and three assists in 35 games with the Wranglers to his season totals. 

The 5-foot-10 forward embarked on his junior career in the 2024-25 season, logging two goals and one assist in 18 games played. 

Prior to Gillette, Yates spent three seasons with Damien High in California, posting 12 goals and 10 assists in 40 games played. 

Sydow, 17, heads into his first full season of junior hockey, having split time last season with the Odessa Jr. Jackalopes and West Texas Wranglers.

In three games with the Jackalopes, the 5-foot-11 blueliner logged a goal, before joining the Wranglers playing in 24 games. 

Prior to embarking on the junior hockey journey, the Dallas, Texas native spent the 2024-25 season with Richardson/Rockwall High posting one goal and one assist in 13 outings. 

Sydow, Yates and the Warriors begin the season at home on Friday, Sept. 11, taking on the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Puck drop from Blazers Ice Centre is set for 7 p.m. CST.
