Hockey Wolf Player of the Month: Luc Bydal

Few players in the league have been as consistently dangerous as Luc Bydal, and November only strengthened that reputation. The 6-foot-2 left-handed forward from Grand Forks, North Dakota, put together a dominant month, establishing himself as one of the most reliable offensive threats in the NAHL.

Bydal led the league with 21 points in November, collecting nine goals and 11 assists. Three of those goals came on the power play, and he finished the month with a strong +7 rating. His production didn’t come in bursts, either, he recorded at least one point in every game, extending his point streak to 13 straight contests. Over the course of the month, he registered eight multi-point performances, including a four-point outing on November 22 against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, where he scored once and added three assists.

The highlight of the month came on November 14, when the ’05 forward pulled off a SportsCenter-worthy between-the-legs goal to tie the game for Anchorage, another example of the creativity and confidence fueling his run.

Reflecting on the honor, Bydal said,

His season numbers continue to reflect that approach. Through 24 games, Bydal has appeared on the scoresheet in 20 of them, with much of that success coming alongside his younger brother, Rylan. Nine of his 21 goals this season have been assisted by Rylan, giving Anchorage one of the most dynamic sibling duos in the league. Bydal also currently leads the NAHL with 21 goals on the year.
