HockeyWolf Player of the Week: Jakob Hanlan

The Oklahoma Warriors found exactly the spark they needed in newly acquired goaltender Jakob Hanlan. The 6-foot netminder from Gatineau, Quebec delivered a standout weekend performance, earning his first two wins with the team and establishing himself as a difference-maker immediately.

Hanlan, traded to the Warriors from division rival El Paso, made his first start for Oklahoma against none other than his former team. He responded with poise and control, stopping 39 of 41 shots in Friday’s 5–2 victory and recording a .951 save percentage, his highest of the season at that point.

He followed it up with an even bigger milestone on Saturday night. The ’07 goaltender turned aside all 30 shots he faced, securing the first shutout of his NAHL career and surpassing the season-high mark he had set just 24 hours earlier.

By the end of the weekend, Hanlan had collected two wins, a 1.00 goals-against average, and a stellar .972 save percentage. His season numbers now sit at a .911 save percentage and 2.77 goals-against average, strong indicators of the immediate impact he’s having in Oklahoma.
