Sherwood Park Crusaders defenceman Erik Kale earns this week’s HockeyWolf Player of the Week honors after leading all players with six points in two games and notching his first career BCHL goals.
The Oyster Bay, N.Y. native set the tone in Friday’s home matchup against the Okotoks Oilers, opening the scoring with his first BCHL goal before adding another later in the first period to give Sherwood Park a 3–0 lead at intermission. Kale wasn’t done there, he added three assists before the night was over, finishing with five points and earning first-star recognition in the Crusaders’ dominant 7–3 win.
He followed up that performance with another strong showing on Saturday, assisting on Sherwood Park’s lone goal in a narrow 2–1 road loss to the Spruce Grove Saints.
A Merrimack College commit, Kale has made an immediate impact since joining the lineup on October 24. His six points this week were his first in the BCHL and a clear sign of how quickly he’s adjusted to the pace and style of play.
With his offensive instincts, confidence with the puck, and ability to drive play from the blue line, Erik Kale has quickly established himself as a key contributor for Sherwood Park, and a rising name to watch across the league.
