Some players catch attention with flashy plays. Others make their mark quietly, through consistency, smart decision-making, and a willingness to put in the work. Robbie Orr falls into that second category. With a strong hockey IQ, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, he’s making the transition to junior hockey look seamless.
A Season of Growth
Last season, Robbie played for the North Shore Warriors U17 prep team in the CSSHL. Over 35 games, he notched 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points. This season, he’s stepping up with the Surrey Knights in the PJHL and already feeling at home.
"Last season, I played for the North Shore Warriors U17 prep team in the CSSHL. In 35 games played, I had 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points. Now I play for the Surrey Knights in the PJHL, and it's going very well. Our team has a record of 14-0-1-2 and I feel I am adjusting well to junior hockey."
Chasing Milestones
While Robbie hasn’t reached his first junior goal yet, he’s focused on learning and contributing in every game.
"I don’t have any notable career milestones yet, and I am still looking for my first junior goal."
What Sets Him Apart
Robbie knows what he brings to the ice, and it’s more than just stats.
"I believe the intangibles that set me apart from other players are coachability, hockey IQ, consistency and my attitude."
Balancing Hockey and Academics
Off the ice, Robbie is just as committed to his studies. Currently in grade 12, he holds a GPA of 3.7 and plans to pursue health sciences or rehabilitation sciences in university.
"So far, my GPA in high school is a 3.7. The number might change as I am currently in grade 12. The area of study I would like to pursue at University is health sciences or rehabilitation sciences."
He also has realistic plans for his future in hockey, keeping his sights on competitive college leagues while continuing to develop as a player.
"In the future, I see myself having a chance to play NCAA Div 3, ACHA Div 1 or USports hockey."
Mentorship and Growth
Robbie credits his progress to working with Stephen Heisler, who has provided guidance, exposure, and honest feedback.
"Working with Stephen Heisler has helped my hockey career by providing guidance and helping me plan my career. The connections and exposure he provides are also key to the success of my hockey career, as well as the feedback he gives me on what I need to improve to be a better player."
Looking Ahead
Robbie Orr is building a foundation based on consistency, intelligence, and hard work. He knows who he is as a player, he’s learning every day, and he’s poised to keep growing at every level—on the ice, in the classroom, and beyond.
